Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering & Computer Science and Engineering have organized a Alumni guest lecture on the topic “IoT Challenges, Scopes and Solutions” on 27.03.2023 The event was organized by Mrs.R.M.Thamilselvi, ASP/ECE and Ms.M.Faritha Begum, AP/ CSE Convenors. Mrs.S.A.Nivethaa, AP/ECE was the Staff Co-ordinator of the event. The Resource person was Mr.S.Chandrasekar, Sales analyst, UE Press Tools Pvt Ltd – Chennai, (Alumni of Pavai college of Technology, EEE, Batch: 2016-2020). The session started with welcome address by Ms.V.Kalavani-II year Electronics and Communication Engineering. The profile of the speaker was briefed by Ms P.Divya priya- III year Computer Science and Engineering.
The resource person explained the concepts of Internet of things (IoT) which describes physical objects (or groups of such objects) with sensors, processing ability, software and other technologies that connect and exchange data with other devices and systems over the internet or other communications networks. The speaker discussed about the features of IoT such as connectivity, Intelligence Energy, safety, Sensing, scale, and Dynamic nature. The speaker also focused about challenges of IoT like lack of encryption, insufficient testing and updating, Brute forcing and the risk of default passwords IoT Malware and ransom ware IoT. Finally he concluded with the scope of IoT which allows people and business man to be more connected to the world around them, and to do more meaningful, higher level work. The lecture was very informative and covered all the applications of IoT. A total of 84 students attended the online guest lecture that was a thought provoking session. Finally vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.J.Nithiya III year Computer Science and Engineering.
