On the Occasion of 150th Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, National Service Scheme, Paavai Engineering College and Government Hospital, Namakkal jointly organized a Blood Donation Camp on 18.09.19 on the college premises. Dr.Raghukumaran, Medical Officer, Government Hospital, Namakkal, addressed the students that Blood donation as contribution towards community development and briefed the students about the importance of the blood donation. He explained that donated blood is stored in blood banks and is given to the patients in Government Hospital. Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director-Administration, Paavai Educational Institutions, in his presidential address, highlighted the importance of donating blood to the needy patients. The intention of donating blood is to save one’s life and it should be voluntary donation. He also appreciated the efforts taken by the NSS to conduct such camps for a noble cause. In this camp, Dr.R.Arangasamy, Principal, Paavai College Engineering, Dr.Sudha, Medical officer, Primary Health Center, Health Inspectors, Mr.C.Rathnakumar, NSS Programme Officer, Paavai Engineering College and Mr.B.V.Maheswaran, NSS Programme Officer, Paavai College of Engineering were present and they encouraged the students to donate blood. The students of Paavai Institutions eagerly participated in this camp and donated their blood. Totally 80 students donated their blood. Finally, A Certificate of appreciation and refreshments was given to the donors as a token of gratitude.
