Pavai College of Technology has organized the NSS special Camp at Sellappampatti village, Namakkal District from 09.03.2020 to 15.03.2020. We started the inauguration of the Special Camp at 3 p.m. Mr.P.Thiyagarajan, Panchayat President, Sellappampatti Village, was the chief guest and he delivered a special speech to the NSS volunteers. He discussed the various factors which lead to the depletion of natural resources. He appreciated the students for joining the NSS scheme and encouraged them to involve themselves in several social service practices. After the inaugural function, we had a group discussion with the public as well as with the Panchayat Vice President Mr.Velmurugan about the activities of the camp. We cleaned the Anganwadi and primary school premises at Sellappampatti. A seminar on “Youth for National Integration & Social Harmony” was given by Mr.S.Sathish, Programme Officer,National Service Scheme, Pavai College of Technology, Namakkal. The students and the public participated in the seminar. We conducted Plastic awareness rally to prevent the usage of polythene bags and plastic bottles. We gave awareness about the effects of plastic usage on human health and the environment to the public. We organized a rally to know the effects of plastics and awareness was created about their Right to vote for their country during elections. A seminar on the title “Empowering Youth Parliament and Votes” was given by Mr.M.Sudhakar, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, Pavai College of Technology, Namakkal. The students and the public were benefited. We planted the saplings in and around the school premises and streets. The valedictory function was presided over by Mr.Prabakaran, Block Development Officer, Puduchatram Panchayat. Mr.Prabakaran, in his Presidential address, insisted the students to gather the new ideas and create innovations to do service to the society.
