Our department has organized three days workshop on “INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION USING PLC & CONTROL PANEL WIRING” on 30th August 2018 at Bright hall. The function was inaugurated by Dr. J. Sundararajan, M.Tech., Ph.D., Principal, PCT. The session was handled by Mr.A.Arunbalaji, Founder & CEO, Starke Automation Technologies, Coimbatore. This session contained detailed explanation about “INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION USING PLC & CONTROL PANEL WIRING”. For the first day, students were known about the basic “function keys” of programmable logic controllers and various “automation tools”. They had learned about to design logical functions by using simulation software. During the second day, they had learned about “Rules of Ladder Diagram”. In this part of the session, they were known the following five main processes like Reading the inputs, executing the program, Processing communication requests, Executing CPU diagnostics and wiring outputs. On the final day, they were designed Timers, Counters and Programmable logic Relay (PLR). Hardware demonstration was given to the students by using switches, push buttons, relay and PLC. The motor is controlled by using timer and counter circuit is also demonstrated to the students. Students were asked questions related to their doubts while simulation and hardware interfacing. They are getting more ideas related to programmable logic controllers by using control panel wiring. In their feedback, they mentioned about “it was very interest and useful to their future jobs”.
