Inauguration of Personality Development Programme for
the first year B.E. & B.Tech Students
A ten-day orientation programme in batches for Paavai Engineering colleges on the title "Training... Gaining... Shining" was inaugurated on 10.10.2012 at Anandha Arangam A/C Hall.
The programme started on an ominous note with the lighting of "Kuthuvilaku" by the dignitaries.
Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, the Chairman Paavai Institutions presided over the programme.
In his presidential cum inaugural address, the Chairman, said that every student should have a Specified, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time bound (SMART) goal and to facilitate the learner to have so, training programmes are being periodically arranged on the campus. Training will surely help them to know the ways and means to convert their dreams into reality. The short term goal is to secure excellent marks resulting in obtaining their degree. Getting one 's degree is compared to getting gold. Similarly, securing a job in multinational company is compared to possessing an invaluable diamond. If an individual is successful in seeking a job after his graduation, it is equivalent to that of placing diamond in gold. A diamond in gold adds value to the gold but if the diamond is placed in a tin sheet it would lose its value and it might appear like a broken mirror. Henceforth, degree and job are essential.
He also added that the training session will focus on goal setting which will help them to set the appropriate and achievable goals in their life. And a session on time management would also enable the students to make their goals time bound. Therefore, all the students must use the orientation programme to the fullest extent.
Following the presidential address Prof. Rathna Natarajan, International JC Trainer introduced the trainers and he said that India is known for youth power and Indian youths do have a promising and bright future all over the world. He motivated the youth to render their best and urged the professionals to make use of their potentials and opportunities.
Mr.S.Shri Swaroop, I B.E Mech, student welcomed the gathering. Ms.V.Kirthana, I B.E. ECE proposed a vote of thanks.
